ixxlens+ is the first progressive lens (PAL) using a new aspheric lens technology, which has a different formula for far and near vision, designed and manufactured by Optixx. It is produced in a proprietary free form manufacturing process that Optixx adapted from the wave-front technology. Optixx AG introduced the lens in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and will be introduced in more countries in the second quarter of 2008.

Optixx AG can minimize the distortions, as well as the unwanted astigmatism in the far and near vision zone, inherent to conventional progressive lens designs, by applying the latest mathematic technology to their progressive lens design.

Optixx is offering the ixxlens+ in CR-39, CR-39 Transitions V , Trivex, Index 1.60 and Index 1.67. Soon Polycarbonate, Polycarbonate SunRX, and Polycarbonate LifeRX will be available. ixxlens+ has sharper distance vision zone and wider reading vision area with a nice and smooth progressive channel. The new SF-Blank offers up to 3.50 dpt of addition power and has a minimum fitting height of 18mm. ixxlens+ is designed for most patients, including those who are new presbyopes and those already wearing progressive lenses. Because of this new technology used by Optixx AG, ixxlens+ is a front side progressive design which is produced with digital surfaced molds, that are made in Switzerland.
